Take A Bath, Change Your Clothes, And FOLLOW THE ARK

Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over.  After three days the officers went throughout the camp, giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about a thousand yards between you and the ark; do not go near it.”

Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do amazing things among you.”

– Joshua 3:1-5

Ahhhh…first day of classes today. For the students, it’s time to mingle again with their friends and also to meet new ones. And this is the first stop to reach out the campuses.

As the classes start, this is also the time that God will put us on a place in our life that we don’t know. For example: At a point in our life, God will use us to preach the Word in front of your classmates. First, it’s uncomfortable because you know, there will be always the possibility that your classmates will tease you and they will bully you. Or this scenario: God has called you to go to the administration of your campus to preach the Word for opening the doors of your campus. I know that will scare you crazy.

First, you will think of your fears and the things that lack on you. For example: “Shy type ako eh. Paano ako makakapag-salita sa harap ng marami?“, “Baka i-expel nila ako.“, and many other concerns.

When that time comes, here’s what to do.

At verse five, Joshua said to the Israelites to consecrate themselves. During their time, consecration means to take a bath, and change their clothes. This time, it means that we need to free ourselves from everything that will hinder us in our walk with God; maybe its pride, fear, worries, or a sin that tangles you. And what’s next? At verse three, Joshua ordered that follow the ark. And what’s that ark? It is God. In short, FOLLOW GOD. Because God will guide you when you are already on that place that you don’t know.

Still thinking on how God will use you on that place? Do not think about it, because God will give you something that you will going to use. It is not all about you anymore, it’s all about God now and how God will work.

Do not worry. Fear not! Just follow God all the time.

Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it. The LORD Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread,

– Isaiah 8:12-13
