How many of you here been offended? Most of the time, its really hard to reconcile with your enemies because of the hurt that they made unto you. But, I tell you this today, in our life, we have offended God.
Yes people, we have offended God. By what? Because of our sins. Yes, because of our sins. Sometimes, we are unconscious by it, but because of sin, we’ve stirred God’s wrath. And we cannot go away unpunished. And the punishment for our sins is death – Eternal separation from God; in other words, its HELL.
Knowing this, we think that we can be right with God by our means. What means? Laws, traditions, religion, etc. But God said, IT’S NOT ENOUGH. We cannot be right with God by our means.
But here’s the Good News: It’s really awkward when your enemy that offended you proposed a reconciliation with you, isn’t it? You know what, God did the same thing, too. By what means? By sending His One and Only Son Jesus here on Earth and paying all our sins by dying in the most excruciating, most painful, most barbaric way to die: By dying on the cross two thousand years ago. It means, no more sins, no more compromise, no more traditions, no more laws, because God’s giving us the gift that we don’t deserve: RECONCILIATION WITH HIM.
Accept Christ and believe what He has done for us on the cross, you will be saved, you will be reconciled with God. And the rest, like restoration of your relationship with your family, tuition fees, studies, financial breakthroughs, and others, all of them are BONUS PACKAGE from God. It’s a “Package deal” from God, accept and believe what Christ has done on the cross, and you will receive salvation and the rest of blessings.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
– 2 Corinthians 5:17-19
Before Jesus ascended from the heaven, He gave us The Great Commission: Sharing the gospel in every tribe and in every nation. Somehow, there’s a specific group of people that we need to reach out. And who are those? They are the next generation: The kids.
Why the kids? Together with the youth, they are the future of this world, just Dr. Jose Rizal said. Someday, they will be a celebrity, a business tycoon, president of this nation, or maybe become a UN secretary-general. Who knows? Together with our efforts by reaching them out and sharing the gospel, someday they will turn this world upside down.
Being a KIDS Church teacher is a lot fun beside on having a great time with the kids in the church, God is also using me to mold the children to be a world-changers. And by the gospel, as young as they are, they will be equipped to face this world.
As what Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.” (Mat. 19:14; Mark 10:14; Luke 18:16), let us draw the next generation to Him.
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.
– Proverbs 22:6
Have you ever heard the saying “Money is the root of all evil”? Well, that’s not true. But why?
First, God wants us to be blessed; in short, God wants us to be rich. Somehow, how can God bless us without money? God knows that we need money in this world. From paying our tuition fees, buying some things, etc. We really need money and God knows it.
But here’s the truth:
For the LOVE OF MONEY is a root of all kinds of evil.
– 1 Timothy 6:10a
Yes people, LOVE OF MONEY. Just look why some nations are still in poverty. Their leaders wants to be so rich somehow resulting to massive poverty of its citizens. Those leaders were called kleptocrats. And what’s the outcome? Civil wars, uprisings, etc. That’s just one of the example of what happen when a person is being consumed by the love of money.
Here’s the simple step-by-step outcome of people who were consumed by it: First, love of money came in their hearts. Second, here comes greed. And when greed comes, a lot of bad things will come as well. And the rest, its very evident in our society today.
Yes people, we need money in this world. But don’t let it consume your heart. God is here to bless us, but don’t trade your relationship with Him with money.
I have a song here from one of my favorite Christian artists, ex-Korn Brian “Head” Welch and I hope this song will wake you up as well:
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”
– Matthew 6:24
Yes, today is Easter (Happy Easter!), and some of the people don’t know the true essence of this season. Yes people were celebrating Easter, and the most popular thing that people do during easter is (Surprise, surprise!) Easter Egg Hunt. But, Easter is not just all about Easter egg, Easter bunny, or whatsoever. The question here is WHAT IS THE TRUE ESSENCE OF EASTER AND WHY WE WERE CELEBRATING IT?
When we look back on the resurrection of Jesus, when the three (Mary Magdalene, Mary mother of James, Salome), they saw that the tomb entrance was rolled away and Jesus wasn’t there, instead, an angel was seating there and declaring that Jesus has risen.
But, what was the empty tomb symbolizes? Guys, it symbolizes that all of us no have the power to conquer everything. All of us now have the power to say NO to sin, power over sickness, power over indebtedness, power over our studies, power over our anxieties, and so many others. But that’s the truth, as Christ was risen, all of these were left inside the tomb: Jesus already defeated all of these through the cross and when he died, all of these died with him. In short, all of these have no power over us anymore because by the power that Jesus gave to all of us, we are now more than conqueror!
That’s another “Access Granted” for all of us, all of us now have an “all-access” to God’s power. No more rituals, no more superstitions, none of these! Don’t be discourage, HAVE FAITH! GOD CREATED US NOT TO BE A LOSER, BUT A WINNER, A CONQUEROR!
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
– Acts 1:8
How many of you have heard this: “Huwag kang lalabas! Patay ang Diyos, walang magliligtas.” I always hear it most especially every Good Friday. Tradition always saying that at exactly 3:00 PM, every Good Friday, we don’t have a Saviour because at that time, Christ was “dead”.
Before I continue, let us put this scenario: Tradition said that every 3:00 PM of Good Friday, no one will save us because Jesus was “dead”, so we must not go outside because you know, we will became so vulnerable to accidents. But, accidents also occurs even inside of our house. So, it means that we are not safe and there’s no one will “save” us.
This time, we need to be enlightened. First, Jesus died once, and He never be died once again because when He died on the cross, the power of death was now on His hands. And when He resurrected, He has shown to the world that He holds the power over death. And lastly:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
– Hebrews 13:8
In the past, Jesus healed many people, casted-out evil spirits, done so many miracles, and also protecting people like what He did on Peter when the latter called out to Jesus when he got drowned. Even in this day, God is still doing these things. He still protecting us no matter what.
Jesus Christ is ALIVE, even on Good Friday. He can still do some miracles up to this day. And no traditions can hold the power of God because He conquered all things just for us to experience His true power and love.
