My IGNITE 2011 Experience

May 26-28, 2011: The date where the most anticipated campus conference of the year happened – IGNITE 2011: LifeBox Campus Conference.

On that three-day conference, 7000 students from all over the archipelago plus some international delegates gathered together at Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City to receive visions and revelations from God and to ignite their hearts to reach the campus.

During the conference, students from different universities set aside their campus rivalries in UAAP and NCAA for one purpose: TO HONOR GOD AND MAKE DISCIPLES.

All the message from the speakers really moved the students and it also ignited their hearts as well to reach out their own campuses. It also move my heart to reach out and I receive some visions regarding on my calling.

And for the first time, a campus night was held. It showcased over 200 high schools, colleges, and universities from all over the Philippines.

On the second day of the conference, “Bar exams” blast survivor Raissa Laurel shared her testimony. At the end of the session, she led a very powerful worship: My most powerful worship experience since the record-breaking worship at EN2010 where almost 20,000 worshipers from different parts of the world sang the song “Amazing Grace” in their own languages.

And after the conference…

For those who missed this conference, here’s what happened during that three-day conference:

And don’t worry, we will see you at IGNITE 2013! And let’s believe that on that conference, we will now have a very large facility to rock on to God and to ignite our hearts!

"Why are you untying it?"

After the most exciting and the most igniting conference this year, I received a lot of visions and revelations from God that really ignited my heart to reach for the youth of this generation.

One of the messages that really moved my heart is the prophecy about the youth of this generation.

We live in a nation that has a culture of “silent youth” – Means that we have no rights to stand out on what our heart desires. Maybe that’s the reason why some of the youth do not know what are the purpose of their life.

This is the time to ignite your hearts. I have another Good News from God:

“Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

– Luke 19:30-31

Here’s how it goes:

We are the colt and the rope symbolizes the things that restrain us to do God’s will. “Why are you untying it” means the opposition of people around you who do not believe that in your age, you can make a difference. The disciples who untied the colt are the people who God sent for us to be used by God. Lastly, when they say “The Lord needs it”, it means that God will use us to advance His kingdom.

Who said that the youth must be silent first? Because the Lord wants us to use to preach the Gospel. Do not be discouraged to pursue what God has allotted in you, instead, set an example to all of them that even you are young, YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

– 1 Timothy 4:12

True Love Waits

This my article before the much-awaited IGNITE conference. Before I do some headbang moves on that three-day conference, I’d like to share to you this entry.

As a teenager, we experienced a lot of stuffs, including falling in love. Come on, admit it! You also experienced falling in love, and some of you had entered in a relationship before. Yes, I was in a relationship before I knew God that deep. And yes, I committed a lot of mistakes when I entered that. Most of our youth today are ending in some mistakes when they entered in a relationship.

I think, this is the time to tell the truth, truth that comes from God. There’s nothing bad on entering in a relationship, but is this the right time for that? Yes people, all the things that will happen are already been set, the only thing that needed is when God will tell us if this is the right time for that. Regarding on who you will choose that you think that’s the “right one”, just wait for it. And if you think that’s the “right one”, pray for it, and better ready yourself on God’s answer.

I’m not saying that relationship is bad, but when you became impatient to enter it, well pray to God that you will never fall to temptations (You know what I mean).

For those who are in a relationship, always do what is right in God’s eyes and pray that you will overcome temptations surrounding it. For those who are in a relationship and you realize that this is not yet the right time for it, this is the time to give it up and wait for the right time and for the “right one”. For those who are waiting like me, seek God first, serve Him first, for it will come on God’s time. And if you feel that the “right one” is already here, still pray for it. And pray also that it will not become a distraction in your walk with God.

Oh, let me warn you, sisters in Jerusalem, by the gazelles, yes, by all the wild deer: Don’t excite love, don’t stir it up, until the time is ripe—and you’re ready.

– Song of Songs 2:7 (The Message)

What If God Doesn't Give It Today?

Are you praying for something that you really need badly? And you have done what God wants, and yet His promise didn’t came. How many of you will break down?

This morning, I’ve experienced it. I always praying that I will enroll this first semester. And yet, instead of achieving God’s promise, my mom told me that I can’t make it for this semester for the nth time. At that moment, I really broke down. The thing that I’ve done after that is to complain to God. I ask Him why He doesn’t make sense, since He is always giving me the revelations that I will enroll for this semester, at the end, it ends up here.

Yes, this really ruined my day today. But one thing is certain, God’s grace and comfort is always with us no matter what.

I know it will really mess us up, one thing that God will say to us:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

– Joshua 1:9

Do not let trials hold you down. God will never leave you nor forsake you (Joshua 1:5).

Why God sometimes doesn’t make sense? One thing is certain, He has to done something on that way some time for us to see what He can do more. We always see what we can see, but His works will be done in His own way, not ours.

What if God doesn’t give it today, will you still love Him? Is your faith in Him always based on what are His promises? Or by your love on Him? Will you still hold your post to wait on God’s promises? Will you still worship Him?

Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

– Habakkuk 3:17-18

So What Do I Learn…

As you observe during the past days, I took some rest on writing articles. This past days I had a great encounter with God.

It was started on Monday and Tuesday, when I learned that some of my friends went outside to bond. The dilemma came when I am browsing some memes at memebase.com, there’s a specific meme named “Forever Alone” (I already used that meme in one of my articles). Suddenly, Satan started to insert some thoughts in my mind like “See? Your friends left you. Ano ka ngayon?! Iniwan ka na nila sa ere!” And I struggled with that thought for few days. One more incident that worsen this struggle is when I learned that I am the only one usher from Caloocan that will serve on the upcoming Ignite conference.

And on that days of struggling, I’m already on the brink of quitting. Means, no more writing, no more fellowship, no more anything.

As I struggle, I realized that it’s all part of God’s revelation in me. I also realize that He is teaching something in my life. And here’s what I learned:

  • Together with money, gadgets, fame, achievements, good works, the other thing that will develop insecurity in our life is FRIENDSHIP. Yes, friendship. I’m not saying that friendship is bad, but when you started to make your friends as the center of your life, that’s the start of developing insecurity in your life.
  • We can faithfully wrestle with God. But at the end, His will still prevails. However, He can still give us strength and grace for us to do His will.
  • Even a simple element can be a foothold in your life. (From now on, I will never use the “Forever alone” meme in all my articles)
  • Lastly, DO NOT QUIT!

And now, I’m on-air once again to share my testimonies and breakthroughs to help you in your life, specifically, in your walk with God.

Whatever struggles you are in right now, you can question God BUT DON’T QUIT! Keep on believing in Him and He will give you the strength and the grace to help you succeed.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
