We can say that we love God if we obey God’s Word. Yes, folks! It’s about our obedience on God. And here’s the question that we need to answer: What is it that God wants you to do? And how can you found that out? By holding on to His Word, and as you hold it, God has to reveal to you what you are called to do.
As we talk about obedience, I have three points to share:
- Bold obedience will face opposition. Let us all go back to the life of Peter and John. According to Acts 5:17-18, the Sadducees and the high priest got jealous to them because of their healing ministry, to the point that they brought the two to jail. The same in us, as we obey God, there’s always an opposition, whether we like it or not. Like for example, we will face more persecution from friends or family, or maybe you will going to face more intense temptations. But here’s a reminder for all of you, YOU ARE ON A WINNING SIDE! Do not let those oppositions hold you back, we have a big God! And here’s another reminder for all of us: If you are not ready for the opposition, you are not ready to obey God.
- Bold obedience often release God’s miracles. When Peter and John got imprisoned, as what was written on Acts 5:19, an angel of the Lord came down to set the two free from the prison. As we obey God boldly, we will also received the things what we are praying for. Just like what happened to me, for the span of my one year “sembreak”, God has to deal some things in me. And as I obey Him, He gave me what I’m praying for. And now, I’m studying once again for this sem.
- Bold obedience always requires FAITH. Let us go back to Peter and John. As what was written on Acts 5:20, God instructed them to preach the Word right away in the temple courts. Most of the time, we’re having a hard time on obeying God. But it takes a lot of faith for us to take that one step of obedience. And when we take that one step, we will meet God on that midst of uncertainty. How to have that faith to obey Him boldly, you need to go back to Him, soak yourself with His Word and spend time with Him.
Here’s the last point: When you obeyed God, don’t be surprised when you face opposition. However, do not be surprised also when He blessed you so much.
