Steve Jobs And The Lesson of Leaving A Legacy

The world of technology is in great shock today because of the death of Apple’s co-founder and the modern-day “Thomas Edison”, Steve Jobs. He will be remembered for his inventions and innovations like the iPod, iPhone, iPad, and in general, the Apple Inc.

When I heard the news of his death, this is the question that runs in my mind: What will be the legacy I’m going to leave when the time has come?

Come on, let’s face it! We only have one life to live. Okay, I’m going to change the context: There will be a time when you need to leave your campus (Because you are graduating or maybe you’re transferring to another campus), leaving your workplace or moving out to your neighborhood. When those times come, how people will going to remember you? Do you want to be remembered because you were the bully of your school? Because you were doing illegal stuffs at your workplace? Or because siga ka sa lugar niyo?

If you want to be remembered to those places the way Steve Jobs was being remembered today, I’m going to share this Scripture to all of you:

Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise,

– Ephesians 5:15

Always live this life as if this will be your last day. What do I mean? The Bible is clear — live as wise, not unwise. Let’s make this simple, live your life with God — as simple as that. Live this life pleasing to Him. If you’re having a hard time, ask God for grace to live for Him. If you want to be remembered to the place you are going to leave, start now. Live a holy life, a life that is pleasing to God.
