Dealing With Your Past
Of course all of us have our past. Sometimes, it’s good, but most of the time, we always thinking and being haunted by our “not-so-nice” past.
Come on, let us all admit it. When we are thinking about our bad past, it really piss us off. Especially when your past talks about people abused you, bullied you like me, or maybe you’ve done something that is so inappropriate.
This is the time to wake up! YOUR PAST DOESN’T MATTER ANYMORE! I’d like to share to you this Scripture:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.”
– Isaiah 43:18
The Bible is clear, leave your past behind, no matter how bad it is. Do not live your life centering to your past. But, it doesn’t end there! Here’s the continuation of the Scripture:
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
– Isaiah 43:19
God is now saying to you that He is making a new way for you. Leave your past behind, and follow His path for you.
The best example that I can share is no other than Apostle Paul. We all know that he is a murderer, targeting Christians during his time. And when he had an encounter with Jesus Christ, his life changed forever and it had done a great impact on spreading the Gospel. God didn’t look on Paul’s past. God didn’t say to Paul, “Because you are persecuting my people…” Here’s what Jesus only said to him:
“Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
– Acts 9:6
God will never look to your past. No matter how the Devil will try to remind you your past, put in your heart that through the blood of Jesus, your past is no longer a big deal in your life. Time to leave your past behind, time to receive the new life that God will graciously give to you.
