CRAVE: Something To Sustain Me

Victory is now on a new series entitled CRAVE (Sounds familiar, right?). The aim of this series is for us to have a strong craving on God’s Word.

What are the things that satisfy you? Food? Gadgets? Vacation? Relationship? We know that there are so many things that we think that will satisfy us; we always say, “Basta eto lang, kumpleto na ako.” But those things will only satisfy us in a matter of time. And once again, you will find more of it.

I have a scripture here about the true craving that we should have:

Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

– 1 Peter 2:2-3

What we had experience before when we received God’s grace, is the same thing that we should crave up to this time. Just like those things that we crave for, we should crave also for God.

How can we crave God? Once again, GO BACK TO THE WORD. As we crave for those things, I think we should crave more for God’s Word. Just like what the Pringles ad said, “Once you pop, you can’t stop.” Once we open the Word, we should crave for more and one day, you will shout “MORE!! MORE!!”

Why we should crave for God’s Word? Because the Bible has everything we need to live this life. How can we live that is pleasing to God, and here’s the bottom line, God’s promises in your life was there also. And you know that there’s over 7,000 promises in the Bible? And here’s another Good News, the Word of God is Jesus Christ (John 1:1, 14).

Crave for more of God’s Word. God’s Word is the one that will sustain you more.

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

– John 6:35
