A Life Without "Plan B"
Just imagine your life where all things are all instant. When you pray for something, that thing immediately comes. When you need tuition fee, just pray to God, and in a matter of days, the money is already there. Or, maybe you are praying for a perfect partner, and as you open your eyes, he/she is in front of you.
But life is not always like that. Sometimes, when we pray for something that we need, it takes a lot of time, how many of you will grow tired and weary? Some of us are willing to wait for those things as they pray. But, as we see, most of the people are getting so impatient and they want to get the things that they are praying for at once. And that’s how “Plan B” sprang-up.
When we say “Plan B”, it means we want to get what we are praying for in the other way. In other words, COMPROMISE. Just look in our society today, we see a lot of people, sometimes we also see ourselves, compromising anything just to get what we are praying for. For some students like me, whey they grow weary waiting for their tuition fees, they chose to join networking.
And what’s the result of “Plan B’s”? Sometimes, it will result more disaster than blessings. Just look back on the life of Abraham, when God promised him having a son through his barren wife Sarah, he waited for 25 years. As he wait, he grew tired and weary. What they did? Sarah brought her slave named Hagar to slept with Abraham just to have a son. And what’s the result? When Ishmael was born, Hagar and Sarah’s relationship shattered. And Abraham failed the test of fatherhood. (Read Genesis 16)
When we are praying for something, take hold with it and anchor those things to God. Wait patiently and pray harder. When it takes too long, just wait and continue to press on to God.
There’s no such thing as “Plan B”, it’s always a “Plan A”. What’s that “Plan A”? Trusting God and continuing to press on as you pray. It’s a matter of faith. Know God that is more powerful than your circumstances. And take note, God paid a very valuable price just for us to be saved: The blood of Jesus. And those things that we are praying for, it’s just a piece of cake for God.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
