Fill 'Er Up!

All of us are finding something for us to fill whatever is lacking in us. If we are hungry, just get some food or just buy at stores for us to be satisfied. If we are lonely, we look to our friends for us to be satisfied. Sometimes, for those who are single like me, they are finding a person who will fill the void in their hearts, in short – Relationship.

Yes, nothing is bad on those things. But I tell you this, it will satisfy you only for a time. And after that, you will going to find more of it, and it is a never-ending cycle of finding something just for us to be satisfied.

This is the time to dissect our hearts. This is what our heart looks like:

The picture above is a black hole.  Whatever celestial objects that will go near it, it will suck it up like a vacuum cleaner. Yes, our hearts are like that. That’s the reason why we are not satisfying on something. And that’s the reason when we got whatever things that will satisfy us (Relationships, gadgets, money, fame, achievements, etc.), and yet we still feel empty.

And here’s another Good News (Again?!). There’s one thing that will dissolve that black hole in our hearts. And what’s that? First, it is not “what”, but “who”. Change the question: And WHO is it? It is God who can dissolve that black hole in our hearts.

When you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, the black hole will dissolve. And on that void, He will take over. When that happens, SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

Relationships, friends, gadgets, fame, money, and achievements will never satisfy us. All of them will be sucked by the black hole in our hearts. It is only Jesus Christ can dissolve the black hole in our hearts and He will fill all the void in our life. Only He can satisfy our lives.

I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God.

– Ecclesiastes 3:12-13
