The TRUE Beauty

At last, an article for the girls, and for the TNL (Tunay na lalake) as well.

What are your standards of beauty? Fair complexion? Chinita looks? 36-24-36 vital statistics? Brains? Attitude?

In this generation, we see a lot of so-called “standards” of being beautiful, thanks to the new media. From TV shows, movies, magazines, and surprise, Internet, they are showing a lot of “standards” on how to be beautiful. And thanks to the new media, a lot of women are getting so insecure in their own selves. As a result, they are doing some unnecessary stuffs just for them to be beautiful, and some of them risked their lives on the process.

I made a survey in my Facebook. And thanks to the underwhelming response of my friends, here’s the result:

As you can see, more people answered “Attitude” as the standard of beauty. Not bad, actually. But the question is this: Is that really the TRUE standard of beauty?

But God is telling you today that you do not need to risk your lives just to become beautiful. Why? Because you are made in His own image.

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

– Genesis 1:27

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

– Psalms 139:14

And to complete the TRUE beauty secret, you must have Jesus Christ in your heart.

For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do.

– 1 Timothy 2:10 (New Living Translation)

See? Fair complexion, chinita looks, 36-24-36, and others are not the true standard of beauty. Why be so insecure? Why cling to so much “standard” of beauty for you to become beautiful? What is beauty if you do not have God in your heart? Want to become beautiful? Submit yourselves to God and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

– Proverbs 31:30
