Go Back To The WORD
This month of May, Victory Caloocan had a new series for its Youth service, entitled “Crave”. The goal of this series that after this, we will have the craving for the Word of God.
A lot of stuffs today that the youth of this generation craving for. Ranging from gadgets, latest games, food, clothes, etc. But when it comes to the Word of God, most of them don’t crave for it. Why?
Here are some reasons why most of the youth of this generation don’t want to read the Bible:
- Strictly for the “holy” people only
But as we can see, when trials came unto them, they don’t know what to do. And some of them, when false teachers appear and started to teach the Word of God incorrectly, they were easily been swayed by it.
And what’s the solution to this problem? Simple, GO BACK TO THE WORD.
How? Here’s how:
Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.
– James 1:23-25
When you read the Bible, don’t just read it like you are reading a History book, instead, meditate on it. Think about it. So that, when trials, temptations, and false teachings came, you know now what to do.
Why trust the Word?
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
– John 1:1
Why trust the Word? Because it is God Himself. And through the Bible, God is reminding us on what to do when such things come in our life. Not just a reminder, but through the Word, we will finally know what God promised to all of us.
It is very important to have craving for the Word of God. Through it, we will have the right foundation in our life. So when trials, temptations, and false teachings come, we will not stumble in our way.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
– 2 Timothy 3:16-17
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
– Joshua 1:8
