The TRUE Root of all Evil

Have you ever heard the saying “Money is the root of all evil”? Well, that’s not true. But why?

First, God wants us to be blessed; in short, God wants us to be rich. Somehow, how can God bless us without money? God knows that we need money in this world. From paying our tuition fees, buying some things, etc. We really need money and God knows it.

But here’s the truth:

For the LOVE OF MONEY is a root of all kinds of evil.

– 1 Timothy 6:10a

Yes people, LOVE OF MONEY. Just look why some nations are still in poverty. Their leaders wants to be so rich somehow resulting to massive poverty of its citizens. Those leaders were called kleptocrats. And what’s the outcome? Civil wars, uprisings, etc. That’s just one of the example of what happen when a person is being consumed by the love of money.

Here’s the simple step-by-step outcome of people who were consumed by it: First, love of money came in their hearts. Second, here comes greed. And when greed comes, a lot of bad things will come as well. And the rest, its very evident in our society today.

Yes people, we need money in this world. But don’t let it consume your heart. God is here to bless us, but don’t trade your relationship with Him with money.

I have a song here from one of my favorite Christian artists, ex-Korn Brian “Head” Welch and I hope this song will wake you up as well:

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

– Matthew 6:24
