IT IS FINISHED!

For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

– Romans 6:6

As what was written on Romans, the time when we did not accept God’s forgiveness through Jesus, we are slaves of sin. Other than sin, for some they are under a curse (For example, most of their family members are drunkards, adulterers, etc. Or somehow, a curse in yourself like being a jinx). Like what was written in Romans that a “slave of sin”, it is like that we are in a prison.

How can we be free from sin and curses? We need a redeemer. On some people, they make a redeemer for themselves. Like if a person is under a curse, they need to have an achievement for them to be set free. And for those who are in sin, religion and good works are what they think that will redeem them. But all of those are not enough. For us to be set free completely, all we need is Jesus for us to be redeemed. And the redemption was done two thousand years ago when He gave his life by dying on he cross.

When Jesus said “It is finished” at the cross, that’s the time that we are finally set free. We are now free from the chains of sins and curses. Religion will never save us, nor good works, it is only Jesus who will save us. We don’t need to do more for us to be redeemed, IT IS FINISHED!

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

– Colossians 1:13-14
