We Do Not Need To Prove Ourselves

Maybe all of us wants to join in a “cool” group because we do not want to be with the “losers”. As people, most especially the youth, really want to hang out with the “cool” dudes. And what some youth do? They intend to join in a fraternity/sorority or in some underground organizations in the campus (Underground organizations are the organizations that is not recognized by the campus.) And by the so-called “peer pressure”, some of them were really risking their lives just to be “in”; but some of them ended “dead meat”.

But some of the youth that already found a group that they fit, they still want to prove themselves to them. By what means? Most of the time, they telling some invented, yet awkward stories that is really hard to believe. How awkward is it? They are already accepted, but they still want to prove themselves.

But hey, this is another article that will wake you up.

WE DO NOT NEED TO PROVE OURSELVES. Why? First, all of us have nothing to prove. All of us have unique gifts and that’s enough. For example, I write blogs and those who read it really like my articles. And for me, that’s enough because I gave what I have and nothing to prove and this is the way I express myself.

Second, you are already accepted by your peers not because on what you have, but on who you really are. And lastly, all of us have the God that gave what we have today generously.

In this life, we do not have any qualifications or requirements for us to be “in”. As long as we have Jesus Christ, who died for all of us, is in your heart, that’s enough. We do not need to risk our lives nor to invent some stories for us to be accepted.

“What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”

– Matthew 16:26

“…apart from me you can do nothing.”

– John 15:5
