Be Still…

“Expect the unexpected.” – How many of us are being so shocked when this thing happen to us?

For example…

When God has planted something in your heart regarding on a specific area, you became so excited. Right? You have already prepared what you are going to do when that time came and you already saw the exact people or area that you will cope up.  But, when something unexpected comes and all your plans, frankly, messed up. What do you feel?

Me? I don’t know about you, but I will be so distressed. I don’t know what will going to do. I already prepared to face what God has planted in me, but the unexpected came. And I will feel so messed up. It’s just like “Lord, ang labo mo naman eh! Binigay mo na eh.”

But, wait! God is telling us that we need to BE STILL when the unexpected comes. Just look on the life of Joseph, son of Jacob. God has already planted something in his heart. But when those unexpected things came, it seems like all messed up for him. But look how God worked on him during those times, and voila! He became the right-hand of the pharaoh.

Unexpected things will always come in our life. Sometimes, it will come when we are already preparing ourselves on the things that God has planted in our hearts. Just remember this, God has to work in our life for that seed that he planted will grow and it will be so fruitful.

When those unexpected things come, don’t give up! Be still, and God will never leave us, nor forsake us.

Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.

– Psalms 37:7

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

– James 1:2-4
