The Lightsaber and the Word of God

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

– Hebrews 4:12

Have you ever read your Bible? If yes, how do you feel while you’re reading it. If not, I encourage you to read it.

For those who read their Bible, it really hurts sometimes, right? As what was written on Hebrews 4:12, the Word of God is like a double-edged sword. In our modern interpretation, it’s like a lightsaber. Imagine if you are being slashed by it, your internals will be exposed, and it really hurts so much. The same thing with the Word of God, it will going to expose what is inside your heart (Sins, wrong attitudes, wrong mindsets, etc.). Most of the times, it will hurt us because the Word has shown what’s inside of our heart, and sometimes, we do not accept it. I have an example of that:

Guy: Grabe! Gusto ko talagang mawala yung mga kaaway ko dito sa mundo!

Leader: Bro, Luke 6:27: “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,”

Guy: Grrrrrrrrrr!!!! Anong klaseng leader ka! Kapag yan pa rin ang binigay mo sa susunod, maghahanap ako ng ibang leader!

The Word of God will hurt us sometimes. Just like what I’ve said, it will going to expose what was hidden in us. Why sometimes we got angry when those things are being exposed? Because that’s the TRUTH. We must face what was being exposed by God’s Word and ONLY through the Word, we will going to know how to change what was being exposed.

For those who haven’t read their Bible, I really encourage you to read it, even though it hurts sometimes, that’s the ONLY way to be enlightened and to uncover what was being covered.

You want to know God? Simple, READ HIS WORD.

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

– Joshua 1:8
